Brian Stanley apologised while addressing his PAC colleagues.
Laois/Offaly TD Brian Stanley says he's genuinely sorry for a tweet about two IRA attacks which killed 35 British Soldiers.
The chairman of the public accounts committee added it was below the standard he would expect from himself.
He also apologised for putting his colleagues on the committee in an awkward position.
Speaking publicly for the first time since the tweet was posted, deputy Stanley had this to say in the last hour:
STANLEY: The Laois-Offaly TD will speak publicly about the matter for the first time later today.
