That's according to Sinn Féin Senator Maria McCormack as St. Francis School in Portlaoise is facing significant overcrowding.
The school supports children with additional needs and has 20 classes being held in just 14 classrooms currently.
Despite recent additions of modular units, the school’s capacity remains unsustainable, leaving dozens of children without a proper place.
Ms McCormack says a recent submission to the Department has prioritized the project, but urgent action is needed to ensure construction begins this summer:
