The investigation is still at an early stage.
Gardaí are investigating whether candles may have caused a fatal fire at an Offaly house yesterday.
The victim, a relative of Mary Holt and Tadgh Farrell who died following an arson attack at the same premises last year, had been living in the Edenderry property, which was badly damaged.
Despite the house being boarded up and lacking power or heating, he had apparently returned to live there.
While the investigation is at an early stage, accidental fire is suspected.
