The minimum age for e-scooter users rises from 16 to 18 next Friday.
A Laois TD is urging authorities to enforce new e-scooter regulations to the fullest extent.
This comes as Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien and Minister of State for Road Safety Seán Canney announced new regulations increasing the minimum age for e-scooter users from 16 to 18, which will come into effect next Friday.
There were 173 hospital presentations made due to E-Scooters injuries in 2021, with that number rising to 309 last year.
New requirements introduced earlier this month saw helmets and high-visibility clothing become compulsory for e-scooter users.
