Today is Brain Tumour Ireland's "Wear A Hat Day" - and a Laois woman is hoping it will help raise awareness for those who could be suffering from a hidden problem.
Ballyfin's Josephine Dowling was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in 2015 after complaining about hearing difficulties.
On average 400 people in Ireland are diagnosed with a brain tumor every year.
Everyone is encouraged to take a selfie in their favourite hat and donate 4 euro to the charity by texting BTI to 50300.
Ms.Dowling - who is a garda sergent in Monasterevin explains the sensation she felt:
