Learner Driver Discovered Driving Erratically Facing Court Appearance

Positive tests were returned for three different types of drugs.

A learner permit holder has been caught driving under the influence of drugs in Westmeath.

Having been spotted driving erratically, the gardaí intercepted the car at a filling station in Kinnegad yesterday.

The driver tested positive for cocaine, benzodiazepines and cannabis.

The car - which was heavily damaged - was not insured.

The motorist is due to appear before the courts at a later date.
