Over €43,000 is being invested in Laois and Offaly and a €3.1 million grant was announced last week which will impact Westmeath branches.
Library services in the midlands are set for an upgrade under new governmental funding.
Over €43,000 is being invested in Laois and Offaly inclusivity projects for children, the elderly as well as vulnerable groups.
A new programme called 'Sanctuary,' designed to help Ukrainian refugees through a series of literacy, arts and cultural events targeting the migrant community, will also be rolled out.
The announcement comes just a week after a €3.1 million euro grant was announced for 46 branches nationwide.
This includes the creation of a new branch in Westmeath and a continued roll-out of the My Open Library service which allows readers to access their local library outside of normal opening hours.
Great news! Minister @HHumphreysFG has announced €2.2 million will be invested in 17 new ‘My Open Library’ branches.
