A Laois woman is raising awareness about how migraines can have a devastating impact on life.
It is frustrating and scary how migraines can impact your life and your family.
Thats according to Laois' Catherine Hearns, who suffers with Sporadic Hemiplegic Migraines for the past 24 years.
The disorder causes stroke- like symptoms, rather than a headache.
In a bad episode Catherine would have paralysis in the left side of her body, lose her speech, feel exhausted and have a facial droop.
The Portlaoise woman has been speaking with Will Faulkner, with Migraine Ireland's Communication and Information Officer, Hazel Breen on Midlands Today about the different types of migraines:
