A midlands county council have agreed to meet with a local basketball team over recurring safety issues with their current facilities.
Portlaoise Panthers have said they feel 'ignored' by Laois County Council, after writing a letter detailing the continuous struggle with St Mary's Hall and leaks and condensation.
The club are asking for a greenfield site, following an incident in the hall that saw the evacuation of spectators during a match due to condensation making the court unsafe to play on.
Laois County Council have responded by saying that they are engaging with the Panthers and with Portlaoise Sports Hall CLG who operate and manage the hall.
