Local Authority Urged To Proceed With Work On Derelict Laois Hotel

It's been closed for 26 years.

Laois County Council is being urged to start work on a derelict site in Portlaoise.

The local authority bought the Old County Hotel two years ago and is planning to build eight to 12 apartments in association with Cluid Housing.

Caroline Dwane Stanley says the building on main street, which has been closed for 26 years, is having a negative impact on local businesses:
