A further €10,000 was seized in follow-up searches in the midlands.
More than €1 million in cash has been seized after a van was stopped and searched in county Kildare this morning.
It was discovered after the van was intercepted on the M7 at 6.30am.
As part of the operation, a 45 year old man was arrested and is currently being held in Portlaoise Garda Station.
In follow up searches in the midlands, an additional €10,000 was discovered.
The operation was carried out by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
