Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
A man in his 70s, who was seriously injured following a crash in the midlands earlier this month, has died.
The collision occurred on December 15th between a car and artic on the N4 in Rathowen, Westmeath.
The man had been taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment but passed away earlier today.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have dash-cam video, to come forward.
A Garda Family Liason Officer (FLO) has been appointed to liaise with the family of the deceased and a post-mortem has been scheduled.
Any road users who were on the N4 near Rathowen or the surrounding roads between 12.30pm and 12.50pm on 15th December 2022, and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
