Pharma entrepreneur Gareth Sheridan's campaign ended in Offaly yesterday afternoon after the local authority voted against nominating a candidate.

So far the only confirmed runners at the moment are Heather Humphreys, Jim Gavin and Catherine Connolly.

Independent candidate Catherine Connolly has come for criticism after saying ‘Hamas is a "part of the fabric of the Palestinian people’.
