A cluster of cases at Ireland's biggest prison was confirmed yesterday.

Mass-testing of all staff in the biggest jail in the country will continue through the weekend, after a cluster of Covid-19 cases emerged.

11 staff in Midlands Prison in Portlaoise have tested positive.

About 500 workers will now be tested, but none of the 824 inmates have picked up the virus.

Assistant general secretary of the Prison Officers' Association, Gabriel Keaveny, says he's not surprised by the outbreak:
