A number of familiar faces have returned to local politics.
A few old faces have made their way back onto local authorities in the midlands.
Three previously sitting councillors have secured a seat in the 2024 Local Elections in Offaly and Westmeath.
Sinn Féin's Sean Maher, who was previously co-opted onto Offaly County Council to replace Carol Nolan, has been elected in the Birr LEA.
Fergus McDonnell has also secured a seat in Edenderry under the Independent Ireland banner, after previously serving on Edenderry Town Council between 1985 and 2014 as an Independent.
While former TD, Kevin 'Boxer' Moran stormed back onto Westmeath County Council, after last serving between 2014 and 2019.
