The bank wants customers to nominate the local charities they're most passionate about.
An AIB Group Initiative, which will allocate €700,000 to over 30 charities across the country, is launching in the midlands.
AIB is asking customers and the wider public in to nominate charities that matter most to them for the fund through their website.
The fund will be distributed using an online nomination process that will be split across five regions in Ireland – Greater Dublin, the Rest of Leinster, Munster, Connaught and Ulster.
AIB will allocate the funds to charities chosen by its customers and the public with a further €300,000 going to charities chosen by the bank’s employees.
Paul Maloney, AIB Tullamore Branch Manager, says;
"We are delighted to launch the AIB Community €1 Million Fund here in Tullamore to support the local charities that matter most to us in the area. We are inviting our customers and the public to nominate the charities they wish this new fund to support. There is so much activity and fundraising happening all over Tullamore, this fund will go a long way to help to those initiatives already doing so much to support their local communities’’.
Nominations close on the 22nd June 2022 and full details on nominations are available on the bank’s website.
