The petition has almost 900 signatures.
A petition calling for answers on the closure of a Midlands college is closing on its target of a 1,000 signatures.
87 staff at Carlow College are facing redundancy after a decision to wind down its operations over the course of the next 24 months.
Nearly 900 people have put their signatures to the petition which demands answers over the unfavourable terms staff were terminated with, public consultation being held over the future use of the grounds, loss of a Humanities college and lack of transparency.
It follows the college's announcement last month it will close, with its land and buildings transferring to South East Technological University.
