A recent study shows one in four people believe those who are receiving the care have only days to live.

The public perception around palliative care often gives people a mental block about engaging with the service.

That's according to Dr. Michael Cushen, Consultant in Palliative Care Medicine at the Midlands Regional Hospitals Tullamore and Portlaoise.
