€445,000 in additional grants is being announced today.
Four domestic abuse groups in the midlands will share in 445,000 euro in funding being announced today.
The grants are in addition to supports included in the Budget, aimed at helping victims of violence, rape and other crimes in the home.
Laois Domestic Abuse Service, Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service and Westmeath Support Service against Domestic Abuse will all benefit from the additional allotment.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee says it's to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and reflects the need for increases to regional-based domestic abuse service.
