Stephen Donnelly visited the grounds of the site in Offaly today.
The Health Minister says a new hospice in Offaly will be the 'main pillar of a proper palliative strategy for the midlands.'
The 20-bed facility will be built next to the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
20 million euro in Capital funding was allocated for the development in September, which is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.
