Some of the highest speeds recorded were 147km on the M6 in Moate, 146km/h on the N71 at Waterfall Cork ---- and 144km/h on the N7 at Kildare
The operation came to a close at 7am this morning but Gardai are continuing to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits and save lives this Christmas.
