The midlands has recorded the highest level of IDA employment growth outside of Dublin in 2021.

In the midlands, IDA employment has increased to 6,868 - a 9.6 per cent rise on 2020.

Some of the local job announcements this year included 180 positions at PPD in Athlone, 100 at Zoetis in Tullamore, and 25 in N'ware in Mountmellick.
