The competition is normally run during the ploughing championships.
Those who took up baking during lockdown could earn themselves 15,000 euro.
The National Brown Bread Baking Competition is usually a highlight of the Ploughing Championships, but this year's exhibition has been cancelled because of covid-19.
Instead, the annual baking competition will be facilitated through Aldi stores.
You can drop your homemade, original recipe creation off at Aldi Athlone or the Aldi Head Office in Naas on Wednesday 26th August from 10.30am to 1pm.
The winner's loaf will go on sale in all Aldi stores in Ireland for 12 months, and they will receive sales-related prizefund, with a minimum value of €15,000.
