Presentation Primary School in Portarlington is seeking planning permission from the local authority to erect a new energy centre on the grounds of the facility.
The centre will consist of a biomass fuel store and a plant room, as well as two open-air liquid petroleum gas tanks in a fenced enclosure.
Two existing sheds on the school site will be demolished to allow for that development, according to the planning application.
Also included are plans for a new solar power system.
