Roads across the region have been damaged by the recent bad weather.
A midlands solicitor is advising of your legal rights if you damage your car in a pothole.
Roads across the region have been left damaged by the recent bad weather - particularly in Offaly, which already has the worst quality regional road network in the country, according to the Department of Transport.
Lucy Boyle, from Tormey's Solicitors in Athlone, says there are particular legal principles which mean local authorities cannot be held responsible for every defect on roads or footpaths.
