In revenue's latest tax defaulters list, Portlaoise hairdresser John Coss has been sentenced to two separate six month stints in jail for failing to lodge income tax and VAT returns.

Offaly farmer Michael Corrigan is facing a tax bill €161,000 for the non-declaration of income tax and vat.

While PAYE worker Stephen Darby from Kinnegad in Westmeath has been fine €2,500 for the misuse of marked mineral oil, as has Sean Malone from Rochfortbridge.
