Simon Harris has already eclipsed the necessary six nominations he needs.
The race for the next leader of Fine Gael has officially started.
Numerous politicians have come out in support of Simon Harris, while Helen McEntee has ruled herself out.
Simon Harris hasn't even formally declared yet but he already has the necessary six nominations he would need.
The names supporting him are coming in thick and fast with Junior Ministers and Longford Westmeath Deputy Peter Burke, Neale Richmond, TDs Brendan Griffin, Alan Farrell and MEP Frances Fitzgerald just some of those endorsing him.
Minister Burke says his mind is made up:
Helen McEntee has now ruled herself out of the running, while Simon Coveney ruled himself out last night.
Public Expenditure Minister Paschael Donohoe is refusing to say if he will run or not.
Elsewhere Heather Humphries hasn't revealed her stance yet.
So now we wait - to see if Simon Harris will be crowned or if he has competition.
