The number of adults accessing CAPA and Counselling in Primary Care services was 6,254 in 2025.
A Midlands TD is raising concerns over the continuing rise in the number of people waiting for counselling services.
According to HSE figures provided to Deputy Sorca Clarke, the number of adults accessing CAPA and Counselling in Primary Care services increased from 5,131 in 2023 to 5,953 in 2024 and 6,254 in 2025.
Overall, this is an increase of more than 1,100 people, equivalent to almost 22%, in two years.
The figure in the midlands rose from 1083 to 1111 between 2023 and 2024, before falling to 832 in 2025.
