A midlands woman has completed a relay swim from Northern Ireland to Scotland.
Mountmellick's Joan Fennelly completed the relay alongside her 3 teammates, The Henley Mermaids, in 14 hours and 46 minutes.
The Northern water is a third of the temperature of a swimming pool, and the team completed the swim early in the season to avoid an influx of jelly fish as the water gets warmer.
It is just one of many relays being completed by the mermaids this year, with the team using their platform to raise awareness around water pollution.
