More Staff Needed In Midlands Hospitals As 430 Elderly People Left Waiting

Sinn Fein is calling for more staff and capacity at the Midlands Regional Hospital's to reduce waiting times for the elderly. 

Sinn Fein is calling for more staff and capacity at the Midlands Regional Hospital's to reduce waiting times for the elderly. 

Figures obtained from the HSE show that in the first 6 months of the year --- 430 people over 75 in Portlaoise and Tullamore were in Emergancy Departments for 24 hours before getting treatment. 

The majority of these patients were in Tullamore, which had 367 --  while 63 were sitting for over 24 hours in Portlaoise.
