Figures obtained from the HSE show that in the first 6 months of the year --- 430 people over 75 in Portlaoise and Tullamore were in Emergancy Departments for 24 hours before getting treatment.
The majority of these patients were in Tullamore, which had 367 -- while 63 were sitting for over 24 hours in Portlaoise.
