The highest figure in the region comes in the Regional Hospital Mullingar.
Over 1,300 people are waiting longer than a year-and-a-half for a hospital appointment in the midlands.
The latest figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund show the majority of those are in Regional Hospital Mullingar, with 976 on a waiting list there.
The report also shows over 4,300 children are waiting for a hospital appointment in the region, with 300 of those on a list for longer than a year.
There's been a marginal increase on the number of people around the country on total acute waiting lists, at more than 700,000 people.
The Department of Health says that's as a result of an increasing demand for care, given the country's growing and aging population.
