Mullingar Regional Hospital Dealing With Overcrowding Again Today

Mullingar Regional Hospital is warning its Emergency Department is extremely overcrowded again today.

Hospital management is asking patients to consider their options - including consulting with a GP or pharmacist - before attending the ED.

Staff are working to manage the current in-patient and covid-19 bed capacity.

18 people were waiting for beds, according to the INMO's morning trolley count.

While five general beds and one ICU bed were available in the hospital, according to HSE figures from last night.
