15 families in Offaly, Laois and Westmeath will benefit from the donation.
The family of Ashling Murphy has made a donation to the Ken Smollen Food Appeal.
Independent councillor Ken Smollen is thanking the Offaly family and believes it says so much about the calibre of people that the Murphy family really are, that they could think of others at such a devastating and really heart breaking time for all of them.
In a post on Facebook he says friends, neighbours and family members brought a huge amount of food to their home as is the tradition in many areas of the country when a family experiences the loss of a loved one.
15 families in Offaly, Laois and Westmeath will benefit from the donation.
Ken says Ashling’s broken hearted Dad Ray said that the family wanted to ensure that the huge amount of food they had left over went to people and families who need it.
