A new business alliance is expressing "grave concern" at the number of jobs created by the IDA in Laois.
The latest data has put the O'Moore County at the bottom of the table in Ireland, with 157 IDA-supported jobs.
In contrast, neighbouring Offaly has 1,302, while 4,099 people are employed by IDA companies in Westmeath.
Laois represents just 2.2% of the 6,868 IDA-supported jobs in the midlands region.
Westmeath accounts for 59.68% of jobs, Offaly has 18.95%, and Longford has 19%.
Laois Chamber and Laois Tourism have come together to form the Laois Chamber Alliance to address the imbalance.
They've written to local TDs and senators seeking an urgent meeting regarding "the dire need for immediate action".
