The Pl1 and Pl2 routes launch on Sunday.
Commuters in Laois will be able to enjoy a new service from this weekend.
The National Transport Authority is launching a new town bus in Portlaoise from Sunday.
CityDirect will now operate two dedicated routes, the PL1 and PL2, with buses running every half and hour in both directions.
The PL1 service will operate between Colliers Lane and Woodgrove, while the PL2 will run between Kilminchy and Bellingham.
Both routes will operate for over nineteen hours a day Monday to Saturday, and sixteen hours on Sundays.
The NTA says the services will improve connectivity with retail zones such as Portlaoise Town Centre and Laois Shopping Centre, as well as Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise and St. Fintan’s Hospital.
