A new playground has been officially opened in the midlands.
The An Ríocht Spraoi Community Playground in Borris in Ossory, which cost nearly €300,000 to develop, includes a number of slides, a zipline and a multi-use games area.
The name, which translates to Kingdown of Play, was chosen by local school children, who cut the ribbon for the new playground today.
It will be open to the public during day time hours, and was officially opened by Cathoirleach of Laois County Council, Thomasina Connell.
