A new alliance of hospice foundations across Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford has been formed.
The newly launched Midlands Palliative Care Alliance is setting about challenging people's misconceptions.
The group is made up of the North and South Westmeath Hospice Foundations, along with their neighbouring groups in Laois, Offaly and Longford.
It comes during Palliative Care Week with this year's theme being "It's not what you think".
