The job cuts are set to be implemented in October.

Job losses could be on the way for a Midlands pharmaceutical company.

The Department of Enterprise is confirming they have been contacted by Novo Nordisk in Athlone with a notification of proposed collective redundancies.

The Westmeath Independent is reporting workers have already been informed of the company's intention to cut up to 75 jobs.

The redundancies are expected to take effect in October.

It follows a recent announcement of 40 voluntary redundancies at the company.
