Number Of Cattle Slaughtered In Ireland Is Down 20% Last Month Compared To 2018

While Sheep and Pig processing also down by 15 and 5%. 

The number of cattle slaughtered in Ireland in August was down almost 20% on the same month last year. 

While Sheep and Pig processing also down by 15 and 5%. 

It follows pickets at meat processing plants across the country including Rathdowney in Laois.

Overall however - there's a 2% increase in the number of animals passing through facilities in the first 9 months of the year.
