An Offaly community organisation is making an effort to conserve and restore a local bogland.
Tullamore Lions club are aiming to preserve the Clonbeale Bog in Rath, which suffered from industrial harvesting for many years previously.
The steps being taken include blocking drains, taking water from the land, building an eco-friendly walkway through the bog and carrying out a conservation plan.
