Offaly Councillor Says It's Time For Government To Pull Greyhound Funding

The industry is still feeling the effects of an investigative documentary earlier this year.

The Green Party is calling on the government to stop funding greyhound racing in its pre-budget submission. 

Edenderry councillor Pippa Hackett thinks the industry hasn't done enough to fix the problems raised during an RTÉ Investigates documentary earlier this summer. 

Currently, the government subsidises the industry to the tune of €16.8 million per year. 

Ms. Hackett - who's also the party's agriculture spokesperson - she says its time to divert those funds to other areas:
