Contracts worth €9 million have officially been signed for a major Midlands project.
The THRIVE Connolly Barracks Reimagined project will see the redevelopment of the historic Connolly Barracks in Longford Town, with Offaly Firm Bretland Construction appointed to deliver the ambitious redevelopment.
The redevelopment aims to deliver a vibrant new community and cultural destination, providing a focal point for residents and visitors in Longford Town.
The project is funded by €7 million from the Government of Ireland and the EU through the ERDF Programme 2021–2027, alongside €2 million from Longford County Council.
The redevelopment will transform the vacant barracks into a vibrant cultural and community hub, featuring a county museum, café, makerspace, recording studio, meeting and music facilities.
