The price of a three bed semi-detached house is rising quicker in Offaly, than any other county in the country.
The latest REA Average House Price Index shows the cost of such a home has increased 7.7% in just three months, to €280,000 - an annual increase of 27%.
Prices are up 3.3 per cent in Westmeath to €330,000, and 1.8% in Laois to €285,000.
While REA Hynes in Tullamore is saying 75% of their sales are attributed to first time buyers chasing affordable housing.
The report also indicates buyers with mortgage approval are generally looking for houses rather than apartments:
