An Offaly pharmacist is switching the counter for the Arctic Circle as she prepares to take on a cross-country trek in minus 20 degree weather.
Lusmagh's Lisa Byrne is joining a team of 14 women to take on the Arctic Challenge in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation's 'Her Heart Matters' campaign.
The group will start their trek in Kilpisjärvi in Finland this Thursday and will use cross-country skis to trek for six days.
'Her Heart Matters' focuses on highlighting women's heart health- with Ms Byrne saying the challenge has forced her to focus on her own health:
