Four such developments were brought in overnight on lowloaders onto farmland in Belmont last week, with attention being brought to Councillors in the local authority,
It's understood they were from a company who manufacture homes in the North and were being held on the land temporarily.
Offaly County Council officials are currently investigating the matter, with the owner fully cooperating.
Independent Councillor for Birr John Leahy chaired both meetings, with the Birr Municipal District also set to get a briefing from the enforcement team on the issue at their next meeting.
He says residents had been unclear about the purposes of the homes:
