Gardaí have been called out to over 8,500 scenes of domestic violence in the past four years.
There has been a 36 percent increase in the number of call-outs in Laois and Offaly between 2019 and 2021, and a 12 percent increase in Westmeath.
There has been 950 call-outs in Laois and Offaly so far this year, with the total expected to reach 1,675.
628 incidents have been recorded in Westmeath, which is estimated to rise to 1,107.
