Over 22,000 Midlands People Getting The Pandemic Unemployment Payment

Over the past seven days, around 8,200 people closed their claim as they were going back to work.

Over 22,000 people in the midlands will receive the Pandemic Unemployment Payment tomorrow.

Nationally 481,000 thousand are in receipt of the payment, which will cost the state over 144 million euro.

8,415 people in Westmeath, 7,420 in Laois and 6,687 in Offaly are getting the payment. 

An additional 368 construction workers made claims for the PUP over the past week, the highest of any sector.
