Over €200,000 Raised For Laois Baby Needing Groundbreaking Treatment

Dan Donoher was just 8 months old when he was diagnosed.

A fundraiser for a Laois baby diagnosed with a rare form of Scoliosis has raised over €200,000 in three days.

Dan Donoher was just 8 months old when his parents were told he had Spinal Muscular Atrophy in December.

The life expectancy of someone with the condition is 18-24 months, with only one drug currently available in Ireland.

Parents Niall and Aisling are hoping to raise around €2.1m to start a ground breaking treatment called Zolgensma, which is currently only available in USA.
