Laois SPCA is urging people in the midlands to be aware of a new WhatsApp scam.

It involves an unknown number contacting people on whatsapp offering drone services to locate their missing pet for a fee.

The scammers are using Laois SPCA's logo as their profile picture on WhatsApp, and are impersonating the Charity Organization.

It's urging people to block the number and not interact with the false service being offered.
