Property Tax To Remain Unchanged In Offaly In 2022

It's the second year in succession that a reduction has been rejected.

Local property tax will remain unchanged in Offaly in 2022.

For the second year in succession councillors voted down a propsal to reduce it, this time by 16 votes to 3.

Independent reps Ken Smollen and Sean O'Brien along with Social Democrat Clare Claffey were those in opposition to maintaining the status quo.

It's two years since a 15% increase was introduced, which is estimated to generate an extra €750,000 in revenue.
